How to Install the Sentrivox Windows Agent

Step-by-step guide to downloading, installing, and verifying the lightweight Sentrivox agent on your Windows endpoints — including silent and mass deployment.

Before you begin

The Sentrivox agent is a lightweight Windows application that collects asset and security data and sends it securely to your portal. Before installing, make sure each target machine meets these requirements:

  • Windows 10, Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016 or newer.
  • Local administrator rights to run the installer.
  • Outbound HTTPS (port 443) internet access — no inbound ports are opened.
ℹ️
Lightweight by design
The agent uses minimal CPU and memory, runs as a background service, and only communicates outbound over encrypted HTTPS. It never opens listening ports on your endpoints.

Option A — Install on a single machine

1
Download the installer
In the portal, go to Settings → Agents → Download Agent. This gives you the latest signed Sentrivox agent executable.
2
Run as administrator
Right-click the downloaded file and choose "Run as administrator". Follow the prompts to complete installation.
3
Automatic registration
The agent registers itself with your organization using its embedded configuration, generates a unique device ID, and starts its first scan.
4
Confirm check-in
Return to the portal — the new endpoint appears in your asset list within a few minutes of the first heartbeat.

Option B — Silent / mass deployment

To deploy across many machines at once, run the installer silently through your existing tools — Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, an RMM, or a login script. The silent flag installs with no user interaction:

Silent install (Command Prompt / PowerShell, run as admin)
SentrivoxAgentSetup.exe /S

Common deployment methods:

  • Group Policy — publish the installer as a computer-assigned software package or startup script.
  • Intune / MDM — package the executable as a Win32 app with the /S silent argument.
  • RMM tools — push the installer as a script or software deployment task to your device groups.
⚠️
Run in a system / admin context
Silent installs must run with administrator or SYSTEM privileges. If the install appears to do nothing, it is almost always a permissions issue — confirm the deployment runs elevated.

Verify the installation

After installing, confirm the agent is running and reporting:

  • Check the Windows Services list for the Sentrivox agent service — it should show as Running.
  • In the portal, open your asset list and confirm the device appears with a recent "last seen" time.
  • Open the device detail page to see its first inventory and security check results.

Endpoint not showing up?
If a machine doesn't appear after 10–15 minutes, see Agent Updates & Troubleshooting for connectivity checks.
